Today is bizarre because I'm typing this at work. Work is usually non-stop loads of stuff to do, but not today. I had 1 whole appointment this morning, a liesurely 2 surgeries mid-day, an actual lunch hour (I'm lucky to eat most days), and then a good 3 hour break with no appointments. We filled the time by shaving the back half of a cat I rescued since it was covered in giant matts. That didn't fill much time though, as she was cooperative. If you know anybody who wants a 12-year-old diabetic cat with diabetes, I can totally hook you up. She's named Nike and she's very sweet. They were going to euthanize her mainly because they couldn't find a friend or relative to take her off their hands. She was also skin and bones - only 4.5 pounds. I just had a feeling it was something treatable, so I got permission to find her a new home. Bloodwork came back SCREAMING diabetes. We started her on insulin and a special diet (as much of it as she wants) and she's doing quite well so far. She hadn't been grooming herself due to feeling crappy, and the former owners hadn't done it either, thus the matts being shaved off. Now that she's feeling a bit better, she's gained a little weight and started grooming again. Her personality is very funny. I'd take her myself if Walter wouldn't throw a fit and a half. Some days I'm shocked that he shares me with Ryan...
Things have been pretty busy otherwise. The wedding date is set at 7/10/09, which is a Friday. Got a location all settled for the reception and started dress shopping. Mom is coming up for more dress shopping on Wednesday, so that should be fun. Still deciding on photographers and florists (we want artificial flowers). Ryan is in charge of music stuff. He's been so busy with school that who knows when that will start progessing. We start premarital classes tomorrow and membership classes at Harvest next week. Feel free to send me your mailing address if you'd like to come.
Ryan goes to the doctor on Saturday to investigate his high blood pressure issues. Here's hoping it's something simple. Also, here's hoping the Heidner basement doesn't flood again. Or my parking lot, for that matter. That was a rather un-fun turn of events. Darn Ike remnants! I'd post some more photos of random events of late, but I don't have them with me here at work. How about somebody posting a comment on here? Let me know others actually read this. Better yet, post a question I can answer.
Well, I should go enjoy the slow day. Tomorrow promises to be more insane - they like to schedule enough surgeries for 4 doctors when there are only 2 in on Tuesdays... Not sure why that is, but our staff meetings have been with outside presenters lately, so I haven't been able to get it straightened out yet. Hope you all are well!
